Welcome to ENG 101 or College Composition. I hope that you will find this course engaging, interesting, and useful. When I teach this course (and I have taught some version of it for over four decades), I always assume that students come to it with plenty of experience both as writers and readers. I hope to have us build on that experience and to give you what you need in order to succeed in your other college-level courses, in the workplace, and in those other areas of your lives in which writing and reading well matters.
